Abstract
Today, power electronic devices and industrial converters are widely used in industry. Sensitive loads need suitable sinusoidal voltage sources. Therefore, the issue of power quality is very important. One of the ways to reduce voltage harmonics in power networks is to use series active filters. By voltage compensation, these filters try to deliver a suitable quality voltage to loads. One of the most important parts of the series active filter is its control system. In the control system, the goal is to generate reference voltage signals that are used to generate switching pulses. The fast and optimal performance of the reference signal generation department is importance. In classical methods, the trial-and-error method is used to determine the coefficients of conventional proportional-integral controllers, which is time-consuming and accompanied by errors, and their setting is offline. In this paper, the intelligent controller based on emotional intelligence is used instead of conventional classical controllers. With the self-adjustment of the controller coefficients, the problem of adjusting the coefficients, which were determined by trial and error and with a fixed value, is solved. The proposed model is simulated in Simulink MATLAB software. The simulation results confirm the stable and acceptable behavior of the proposed model.
